Investment - External Wealth & Inequality Dashboard

1. Data Collection and Integration

I collected three global macroeconomic datasets covering over 180 countries:

• External Wealth of Nations (Milesi-Ferretti, 2024)
• Standardized World Income Inequality Database (Solt, 2024)
• IMF GDP dataset (2024)

Each dataset had different structures, time periods, and definitions.

Using Power Query, I imported and integrated all sources into a single analytical model.

Key actions:

• unified country naming conventions
• merged datasets on Country–Year keys
• removed non-country entities and offshore centres
• imported 10+ external wealth indicators for modeling

2. Data Cleaning and Transformation

Inside Power Query, I performed full preprocessing:

• removed missing, duplicated, and corrupted rows
• standardised numerical formats (GDP, NIIP, inequality indexes)
